Kate Middleton escorted her husband, Prince William to the Claridge’s Hotel in London yesterday where he was honored by the Thirty Club. She graced the affair with a long ivory dress by Roland Mouret complete with a pair of strappy glittery Jimmy Choo sandals. Could this fresh new approach to sexy shoes be her response to Nicholas Kirkwood’s statement about her shoes being too…you know…matronly? Whatever it is, we certainly love this new look.

I love art and I think the Versailles Palace in France falls in this category. The Versailles Foundation Fundraiser Gala, held once a year centered around a Royal Personage, is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates and preserves important historical monuments in France such as the Claude Monet Museum at Giverny and The Chateau De Versailles. I have been a supporter of their mission for quite some time now and adore what they have done so far keeping the palace and museum “alive” in France. Thanks to them, tourists visiting the grand opulent palace once home to the larger-than-life Marie-Antoinette, have something to marvel at during their visits.
In the past, I have had the opportunity to meet the likes of Queen Noor of Jordan, Princess Michael of Kent, King Simeon II Saxe-Coburg and Gotha of Bulgaria, to name a few at this annual gala. This year, I had the pleasure of meeting HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex for the second time (the first was a few years ago pictured farther below. He’s the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II). The Prince gave a lovely speech on Henry VIII with it a different spin that makes one forget they have heard the story before. Had he not been a Royal he would have given the likes of Comedian Billy Crystal a run for their money. He has an uncanny sense of humor and an unmatchable wit. His aides (handlers) were equally friendly and very approachable. I only wish I could say the same for American aides who guard our so called celebrities on this side of the pond. I don’t remember the last time I had this much fun at a charity gala. I had the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
I wore a dress by Ralph Lauren, filigree gold leather clutch by Kippys, shoes by Dior and jewelry by Chanel and vintage Ciner.

Halle Berry is saving her shoes for her daughter because she herself still wears footwear previously owned by her mother that has now come back into fashion.
The Oscar winner still owns footwear that was given to her by her mother and hopes one day to hand her own pumps down to four-year-old Nahla for when they come back into fashion.
She said: ”I think shoes after something that, through time, will always come back in fashion again. I had shoes my mother gave to me from the 1970s that I wore a few years ago. So yes, I’m thinking of that for my daughter.”
Halle Berry takes very good care of her shoes like most of us here and even has a dedicated room to neatly display and show them off.
”I’m pretty addicted. I have thousands of pairs and I have a real relationship with them. I think many women do,” she explained.
”Shoes are like a good hairdo; they reflect how we feel. If you’re feeling sexy, fun, sporty, if you’re feeling casual … your shoes say a lot about you.
”I have a storage room where I keep them all, in their boxes with a picture of each pair taped to the outside. I’m pretty obsessive.”
I think a lot of women can take a page out of Halle’s book. To NEVER throw away any well made shoes and to treat them like family heirlooms! As the saying goes, there is nothing new under the sun. What is past trend now will be back in fashion again in a few years, just like leopard prints every fall season!
The actress just recent launched her own shoe line called “5th Avenue” in collaboration with the German company, Deichmann Shoes.

Some of you got mad at us for posting a picture on Facebook of a fashionista with a cigarette in hand in hot shoes. Well, how is this one -A HOT SMOKING SHOES! Literally!
First Christian Louboutin served up the SEX shoes (Pictured far below), now Prada is smoking all the way to the bank with this latest Spring-Summer 2012 edition.
This brings to mind Bianca Jagger’s Yves Saint Laurent “Le Smoking” jacket won’t you say?
You have to hand it to Mrs Miuciu Prada. It is creative and very different, we must admit. You might not smoke, but it’s a collectible worth displaying on any mantle piece, if only for the art. This could very well take shoe collecting to a whole new level. Shoes are now making their statements in more ways than one these days. Some are almost becoming “forbidden” to step on. Too good for the road!

Fergie stepped out in style on the red-carpet for Voli Light Vodkas in Beverly Hills Lounge & Nightclub on St. Patricks Day. In keeping with the theme, she showed up in green colored fashion including her shoes! She rocked the new flame designed Spring-Summer 2012 collection by Prada. Trust our Shoeholics magazine editor Tinu to also celebrate the green theme and Irish colored flag watching the 251st annual parade in New York City wearing green head to toe and orange leather bag!
It was a lovely day in New York City, March 17, 2012, the one day of the year to see men in kilts and dress in many shades of green and still manage to look fashionable and chic. Figured why not check out the Irish style to share with everyone. Beautiful kilts and tartans of various colors were abundant and so where revelers ready to party and drink pints of Guinness all night. However, we could not resist noticing some unique attires and dare we forget some very stylish Irish shoes to mark the special historic day, the 251st anniversary of St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Follow Tinu’s site to see the full video coverage and more images.
