Even actresses love a good bargain. It always gets the best of us. Actress Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds, Troy), casually dressed in a white blouse tucked neatly into a pair of elastic-waist leather shorts, was seen makeup free browsing the shoe racks at the Neiman Marcus shoe department store in Beverly Hills, California. It’s a serious business when shoe shopping. We totally get it.

Ladies! Let’s not ruin the fun of wearing shoes as art only to turn it into a weapon of possible mass destruction. It’s bad enough we have to take it off at airports but now this? A Houston woman is being accused by authorities of stabbing a man to death with a stiletto heel in a high-rise condo. KHOU-TV reports that 44-year-old Ana Lilia Trujillo is facing a murder charge. Houston police investigators say officers responded to an assault in progress call at the condo just before 4 a.m. Sunday. At the scene, officers found Trujillo, who showed them the body of a 59-year-old man. He was found in a hallway between the entryway and the kitchen. Police say Trujillo was the only person in the condo when officers arrived.

Police have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of his family.

We feel like we have a “social” responsibility to our members worldwide. We came across this image and almost fainted! We’re all very familiar with the saying “No pain no gain!” Yes, we love shoes but we still need to make sure we wear them not too tight or we risk having our gorgeous pretty little feet looking just like this and that defeats the purpose of the overall beauty to show off our shoes. This is enough to ruin any summer/beach sandal on a lovely day. Buyer beware, if it doesn’t fit, dust them off and hang them up on the wall or place on a pedestal to admire as art. You get to enjoy their beauty just by looking at them! 🙂

In his bid to woe Hollywood and conquer America, Dan Stevens of the hit TV period show Downton Abbey has been busy transforming himself into a suave movie demi god from the chubby character we used to know from the show. He has been cruising the party circuits from Hollywood to New York in designer dos and scoring lots of high marks along the way. We couldn’t resist noticing his super edgy and fashion forward look at the recent CFDA Awards in New York City on Monday. Forget the traditional boring men’s shoes, Dan opted for a more daring floral design number! We most certainly approve the choice! This should help men think outside the box to try new things. Dan’s attire set off his red-brown shoes, which were decorated with a floral motif and designed by Thom Browne, who won Menswear Designer of the Year at the CFDA Awards which recognizes excellence in the fashion industry with its winners nominated by designers, magazines, retailers, and stylists.

Shoes are made for walking or as decorative art but one collector chose to do otherwise! She used them to traffic drugs! Come on people! You should know better! As if it wasn’t bad enough that we have to take off our shoes for screen at the airports, now we can definitely expect extra screening of any pair of shoes higher than an inch off the ground. Cork, platforms and wedged shoes –travelers beware!

According to Customs and Border Protection, a Camden woman was arrested at Philadelphia International Airport on Wednesday for doing just that.

CBP officers say that 25-year-old Iveliza Tuhanna Perez arrived on a flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

During a baggage examination, officers discovered that three pairs of cork wedge high heels Perez was carrying were unusually heavy and found x-ray anomalies inside the sole and heel of all six shoes.

Inside, officers found cocaine weighing more than four lbs, with an approximate street value of $140,000.

“We know that narcotics smuggling organizations employ a wide variety of creative concealment methods to transport their illicit narcotics into the United States. And so Customs and Border Protection officers must remain steadfast in our mission to intercept their deadly poison before it hurts our communities, families and friends,” said Allan Martocci, CBP Port Director for the Area Port of Philadelphia, in a release.

Iveliza Tuhanna Perez was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute (PWID) and Knowing and Intentional (K&I) Possession.
