Alas! Spring sprung much earlier at the Ese Azenabor spring summer 27 collection show during New York Fashion Week atop the world famous ritzy Rainbow Room at the Rockefeller Center, 65 floors high above the city. The Nigerian Canadian designer took to her ultra feminine romantic flare trademark esthetics to deliver several show stopping silhouettes in varieties of bold and vivid spring colors. The appropriately titled “Electric Flowers” collection showcased her iconic technique of strong detailed craftmanship which brought to life beaded works and elaborate detailed embroideries in vivid sculptural 3D florals. The collection included blooming pastel hues of hand embroidered floral motifs and appliques on fabrics such as organza, chiffon, taffetas, satin et.al on full circle skirt dresses, ballgowns, cocktail, tea length attires. The collection exudes happiness and light hearted whimsical feeling to the wearer and onlookers. If there is such a thing as “happy dresses”, this collection would be the embodiment of such attributes.
