The highly anticipated Shoeholics magazine summer edition draws attention to the extraordinary work of our first celebrity cover model, the lovely and extremely talented fashion connoisseur Olivia Palermo. The issue highlights her philanthropic mission helping those less fortunate in Kenya, East Africa through a unique collaboration with Spain based Pikolinos. Olivia is the ambassador to the Maasai Project, which is a sustainability project to support the development of the Maasai community in Kenya. The spring/summer 2013 Pikolinos collection of shoes and bags are beautifully hand embroidered in Kenya, finished in Spain and sold internationally bringing much needed revenue to the local villagers. We love her low-key attitude to her life of glamor reminding us to keep our feet (in hot shoes) firmly on the ground and not forget about the less fortunate. I think we can all learn from this collaboration and help out in our own individual ways by checking out some of the products featured in the summer edition like pair pair seen below on our house model.

This edition also features the unique creations of award winning and world renowned artist Marina Dempster using shoes as art work displays. And Wendy Isham of Rock & Merlot proving that it “takes a village” to develop a whole shoe brand much like a brand new baby.

The scorching heat of the summer is here and with it comes the joy of showing off our pedicured feet in colorful and cheerful summer sandals. You don’t want to miss some of the summer shoes featured in the summer issue for men and women.
