Shorty after the parade, our editors advanced to The Set NYC’s Masquerade Art Gala for Freedomladder, a charitable mission to stop child sex, slave trafficking which included a costume fashion show by Vogue and Inside New York featured designer Yesterdaynight, hosted by philantropist and award winning actress Qurrat Ann Kadwani. Our very own editor Tinu was one of the judges to handpick the best costume/mask. Winner gets a free 1 year subscription to Shoeholics magazine and beauty treatment at Exhale Spa. Complimentary copies of Shoeholics magazine holiday issue were available for the guests. Ahead of Alzheimer’s awareness month in November, The Alzheimer’s Association held a star-studded fund raising black tie Rita Hayworth Gala with host, founder and chair Princess Yasmin Aga Khan in New York on October 21, 2013.

Since the inaugural Rita Hayworth Gala 30 years ago, the event has raised more than $61 million to support Alzheimer’s Association’s critical care and research programs. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan established the Gala as a tribute to her mother, Actress Rita Hayworth, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease for many years before her death in 1987.  Since then she has remained an active leader as General Chair of the gala, inspiring generous financial support for the association. Shoeholics magazine was proud to be one of the esteemed silent auction participants with complimentary subscriptions and copies of the holiday issue in over 600 gift bags for the guests! Other gift bag participants also included Zagat, Vince Camuto, NY Yankee, Dior, Clarins, Peter Thomas Roth, et. al.
