Shoeholics magazine was a proud participant at the Rainforest Action Network (RAN) Eco Rock charity event that took place today at The Cutting Room New York City at with proud supporters such as Chris Noth, Jim Gaffigan, Holt McCallany, just to name a few.
Rainforest Action Network campaigns for the forests, their inhabitants and the natural systems that sustain life by transforming the global marketplace through education, grassroots organizing and non-violent direct action.
Since it was founded in 1985, the Rainforest Action Network has been working to protect rainforests and the human rights of those living in and around those forests. From the beginning, RAN has played a key role in strengthening the worldwide rainforest conservation movement through supporting activists in rainforest countries as well as organizing and mobilizing consumers and community action groups throughout the United States. For more than 28 years, RAN has brought the voices of the people and the planet to the world’s largest corporations, enabling the type of change that can only be achieved through sophisticated negotiations and fearless action. The Wall Street Journal calls us “some of the most savvy environmental agitators in the business.” We’ve saved millions of acres, shown corporations time and again that they can do well while doing good and mobilized thousands of concerned individuals around the world to make a difference.

Live performance was provided by Warren Haynes of Gov’t Mule and The Allman Brothers Band while comedian Jim Gaffigan had everyone in stitches! The event was a smashing success raising funds thanks to a room full of generous donors and gifts donated by luxurious hotels and diamond watches by Jacob & Co. Kendall Jenner is fast coming into her own as a red carpet fashion maven taking risk in jaw dropping frocks! The reality star and fashion model wowed the red carpet at the MuchMusic Award with her sister Kylie. The 18-year-old wore a white embellished long-sleeve, deep cut double front slit Fausto Puglisi gown accented with elaborate embellished jewels. Kylie looked fairly modest compared to her sister. We certainly took notice!

This event, hosted by Chris, will be held on June 16th, 2014 at the The Cutting Room in New York City and will feature a special live performance.

Angelina Jolie is on a whirlwind about the world promoting her smash hit movie Maleficent. Staying true to her on screen character, the actress does her press junkets in a villain style pair of shoes designed by Christian Louboutin, featuring a spike at the back heel. She wore a similar style to the European part of the tour featuring blood drop accents at the back. So far, we have now seen it in 3 different colors, including the black and white version posted here.
‘It’s exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent,’ Mr Louboutin said of the designs. ‘I’ve been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character’

The annual CFDA Awards took place today in New York City. It’s an event where fashion industry folks honor their own as well as recognize bold face names who help promote the industry. Rihanna was this year’s recipient of the Fashion Icon Awards and she made sure no one forgot it. She showed on the red carpet in Swarovski covered dress designed by Adam Selman. Taylor Swift was sweet as daisies during a recent outing in Japan. The hit maker was seen in a floral spring-summer dress matched with nude color strappy sandals and completed the look with a medium size satchel. It was very age appropriate and fresh for the season. The ensemble was a total 180 degrees turn from her on stage red vixen up do (shown farther below).

Slumdog Millionaire star, Freida Pinto is one of us! The Indian beauty gushed about her shoe obsession during a promo for Chanel couture saying, ‘They’re my biggest obsession but I don’t even know how many I have,’ she says. ‘It’s a bit obscene for me, but I’m sure there are people that have way more.
‘It’s really weird though, because my love for shoes isn’t because I want to wear them all. I mean, there are only so many days in the year, so it’s impossible to wear all of them, but I have them because they’re so beautiful, like works of art, and I love looking at them.”
