In a time of political divide in the country, Stacey Bendet cleverly utilized her trademark of ornate and intricate designs at Alice and Olivia in a playful presentation of the Spring Summer 26 collection during New York Fashion Week, to remind her loyal followers of some of the beautiful things about the good old USA. Not just in the clothing with the flag printed in the designs, but with giant sized American classic props installed throughout the iconic in the historical landmarked halls of the Beaux Arts style Surrogate Courthouse on Chamber Street in the city. Some of which included; French fries with jumbo coke cup adorned with her logo, scrolls of the Declaration of Independence, football memorabilias, imposing flag overlooking the spacious hall from above. One of the models, perched high up on of the balcony above, assumed the role of Lady Liberty with cascading oversized skirt pouring from the upper floor down arch way below. The collection did not fail to include her trademark intricate detailing of embroideries, bedazzled jackets, et.al. Silhouettes ranged from garden tea party frocks to grand entrance making floor length theatrical gowns. It’s impossibly hard not to have fun when wearing any of her designs.

Yours truly attended the presentation wearing one of the brand’s black satin suit bejeweled with crystal “graffiti” and brooches. Let’s be honest, nobody does intricate embroidery heirloom worthy pieces like Alice and Olivia, at least in the good old USA!
