Shoeholics Magazine At The Annual Alzheimer’s Association Gala
October 23, 2013 in Causes, Events, News by Bernd Ruhl
Ahead of Alzheimer’s awareness month in November, The Alzheimer’s Association held a star-studded fund raising black tie Rita Hayworth Gala with host, founder and chair Princess Yasmin Aga Khan in New York on October 21, 2013.
Since the inaugural Rita Hayworth Gala 30 years ago, the event has raised more than $61 million to support Alzheimer’s Association’s critical care and research programs. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan established the Gala as a tribute to her mother, Actress Rita Hayworth, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease for many years before her death in 1987. Since then she has remained an active leader as General Chair of the gala, inspiring generous financial support for the association. Shoeholics magazine was proud to be one of the esteemed silent auction participants with complimentary subscriptions and copies of the holiday issue in over 600 gift bags for the guests! Other gift bag participants also included Zagat, Vince Camuto, NY Yankee, Dior, Clarins, Peter Thomas Roth, et. al. Congratulations to Alyssa Berland and Pete Wilson who each won free subscriptions to Shoeholics magazine from the silent auction. Click here to grab your very own copy now!
Some of the guests included TV personalities Deborah Norville of Inside Edition, Regis Philbin, sportsman John McEnroe, Actress Brooke Shields, columnist Cindy Adams, Grammy winner Diana Krall (who performed), designer Naeem Khan, TV host Padma Lakshmi and so many others. Our very own editor Tinu was in attendance wearing a custom-made Reem Acra gown and Dior shoes.
