The Holiday Issue Is Here!

We present the highly anticipated Shoeholics Magazine holiday issue! The special edition is dedicated to our readers and members, especially those on our Facebook page where we posted a casting call sometime in March 2012 asking for our members to appear as everyday women in the editorial spread of the “Holiday Rush.” Over 2000 hopefuls responded to the post and only 9 were chosen. Some of them flew from places as far as Texas to take part in the New York City photoshoot. It was a fantastic day had by all.

The holiday edition also features great holiday gift suggestions using fashion models clad in drop dead gorgeous dresses by designers such as Reynu Taandon of Maynah Designs from India, Dina bar-El from the US, Jitoris from France to Iron and Seduce from Australia with dazzling diamonds and gemstones from Angelique de Paris. The suggested gifts are simple shoe themed items you can present someone on your holiday list, to someone who adores shoes or has just about everything under the sun without necessarily breaking the bank! You will be surprised by some of the most unique and original gift ideas in the issue, things you least expect.

The Ultimate Shoeholics™ section did not fall short. The issue also welcomes Sierra Scott, one of the main reasons why the magazine exist in the first place; highlighting and showcasing everyday collector just like our members and readers. This special lady has over 300 pairs and counting! The interview gives a bird’s eye view of her daily life as a collector. She is indeed cover worthy! Other well notable Ultimate Shoeholics are none other than Kimberley Bevan the shoe art painter in London. Her paintings are quite special and different. We are sure there are many more people just like Sierra out there and we would love to hear from you!

And for the gentlemen, you might want to step out of your comfort zone with some of the exotic leather shoes from Calvin Klein, Roberto Cavalli, et. al. featured in the issue. The alluring exotic hides includes Snakeskin, Eel, Crocodile, Stingray, Lizard, to name a few. They are not to be missed.

The Awards & Party!

The Myrtle Awards™ gets a kick off with “Shoe Cake of the Year” as the first category. The award is an effort to recognize amazing talents in shoe art craftsmanship no matter what form of medium used  (i.e. leather, paper, flour, wood, paintings, illustrations, e.t.c). Many more categories, especially for traditional shoe designers will soon follow.

Earlier this year, many cake designers from around the world submitted images of their work for consideration and only a handful were picked to be featured in the publication. This does not mean they are the winners but merely a presentation of the concept, great holiday dessert option for our readers and of course to show the world their unique talents. Shoeholics Club members and magazine readers will get to choose the top 3 winners based on the number of positive likes/comments posted on the pictures when they appear on the Edible Shoes & Bags™ Facebook page. The final winner will be announced at the upcoming anniversary/holiday bash. Cake designers and hobbyist still interested in taking part are more than welcome to submit images to staff@edibleshoes.com till November 2, 2012.

About the one year anniversary/holiday bash: To be held at Pranna Lounge, NYC on Thursday, November 29, 2012 8pm-2am. Save the date and RSVP at events@shoeholicsmag.com.
