An organization that helps others is in need of your help.
The Salvation Army’s clothing and shoe donations are drastically down. They are hoping the public will be generous to them when doing spring cleaning.
Captain Don Sanderson of the Salvation Army told 22News that the economic crisis has people donating less, while the need for good used items is rising.
“People are holding on to their stuff longer, due to the fact that everybody’s feeling it in the wallet,” Sanderson said. “Now we’re starting to feel it in a kind of a trickle-down way.”
The money raised at Salvation Army stores is used to support their various community programs.
