Shoeholics Magazine almost got reprimanded by some conservative retailers/newsstands who stocked the very first issue featuring what some perceived as being “too racy” in January 2012 when it launched. And here we are a few months later, Brian Atwood is getting the heat for pushing the envelope with “racy” ad campaign too hot for the general public to see, Taxi tops & TV refused to even promote the ad or play the video. The very building housing the designer’s flagship store in New York City won’t even allow the ad to grace it’s facade!

The famous Opium perfume ad with Sophie Dahl for Yves Saint Laurent and Lara Stone for Calvin Klein have all once upon a time pushed the sexy, racy line with advertisement. So why is the public or should I say, the “gate keepers” suddenly playing the puritan police? In this hard times, every label is trying to gain more exposure through controversial means. I suppose with heavy weights like Huffington Post, New York Post, et. al writing about it must mean the designer did something right after all. Here we are, talking about it too!

So you be the judge. Is it soft porn or artistic? Preview the pictures and video footage below. “Fifty Shades of Grey” anyone? Shoes this coming Fall season are going to be too hot to handle. Get ready!
